For the last 3-4 months I've been preparing for my journey to Africa. I've been doing all I can to pay for this trip, putting most of my paychecks from the farm into what I call 'my Africa bucket', raising money by selling Lemon Bars and Brownies on weekend Farmer's Markets, 3 yard sales from your donated items, and I've been given donations and gifts of many kinds. Thanks to all of YOU I've raised over $4,000! I've payed for all my volunteer expenses, my vaccinations, doctor visits, my plane ticket, and I have money left over for bottled water while I'm there. It truly feels like I'm in the best moments of my life. My family and community are so supportive of me and my dreams... it feels wonderful!
Thank you everyone for your great support!
Tomorrow, I'm off to Tanzania!!
I'm really excited, jealous even! Looking forward to reading your blog. Love ya sis and even though it goes without saying, have fun.

ReplyDeleteGo, Girl!! Good for you for availing yourself, with keen foresight and determination, to another life-altering adventure/experience wherein you'll not only grow, in every way, immensely, but also be contributing in a very positive manner to those young children whose lives you'll impact. Bravo, Talia!!!
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to all the stories. Savor every minute of it! My thoughts go with you my dear, dear friend.
